- Download the template file and write your message.
- Take a PNG screenshot of it with white pixels at the borders.
- Place the image in (Windows/Linux) FrozenSynapse/psychoff/ (Mac OS X) Frozen Synapse.app/Contents/Resources/psychoff/ You should find importtest.png already there. For Steam it's first Steam/SteamApps/common/
- In FS, press ` or ~ to open the console then type loadeditor(); press ⏎ and ` again.
- You are now in the Level Editor. In the menu on the right, click Import from PNG and import it. Then save it as a map-message.enc (or anything). Then move the saved file from (Windows/Linux) FrozenSynapse/psychoff/data/encounters/ (Mac OS X) user/Application Support/FrozenSynapse/Psychoff/data/encounters/ [For Steam it's first Steam/SteamApps/common/] to userlevels/ in the same data/ directory.
- Now relaunch FS, log in, create a game with advanced setup, load the level by typing its file name (map-message), then if it asks add one or more units for both teams, then click submit and specify the player's name and “Map Message” in game information field. Submit, you're done.
